The Ministry of Energy Released the Order on Settlements at the Electricity Market

Despite the armed Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Ukrainian energy system demonstrates stable and sustainable performance. Ukrainian renewable energy generation also continues. On 28 March 2022, the Guaranteed Buyer held two auctions and sold 111,360 MWh of renewable energy to be supplied between 1 April 2022 and 30 April 2022.

Nonetheless, the Guaranteed Buyer may in the future experience some difficulties in sticking to the payment terms under the executed PPAs. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine released the order ‘On Settlements at the Electricity Market’ on 28 March 2022, applicable for the period of martial law introduced on 24 February 2022. 

According to the Order, the Guaranteed Buyer shall pay for the energy produced from renewable energy sources under the effective PPAs according to the following steps:
