VII Winter Forum of the Lawyers Association of Ukraine on Criminal Law and Procedure was held on December 15, 2017, with the support of INTEGRITES and other law firms, being one of the large-scale events in the field of criminal law.
Volodymyr Rudnychenko, the Head of White Collar Crimes Practice at INTEGRITES, moderated the session devoted to corruption crimes, the peculiarities of their pre-trial investigation and judicial review.
Within the framework of the session, Volodymyr Rudnychenko commented on the expectations and realities of implementation of novels into criminal legislation, including those related to corruption crimes. The discussion focused on such topics as a ban on “mask-show”, audio-fixation of court hearings on search permits, seizure of property for the purpose of using special confiscation, as well as financing of terrorism.
In addition, the experts recreated the process of criminal proceedings, commenting on the specifics of the investigation and prosecution of this type of crime. The detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the lawyer specializing in this category of cases took part in the discussion.
