On May 16, 2018 a regular meeting of the Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure of the Ukrainian Bar Association took place. During the event the participants discussed the application of so called “stop mask-show” law.
Volodymyr Rudnychenko, Counsel of White-Collar Crime practice, attorney, member of the Council of the Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure of the Ukrainian Bar Association, told about the current and positive practice to apply amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine related to appealing the reasonable terms violation in the criminal proceedings.
During the event the participants discussed the amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine that had been introduced on the basis of the so-called “stop mask-show” law, in particularly grounds to close the criminal proceedings, requirements to record court hearings as well as amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine that had been introduced on the basis of the amendments offered by Lozovoy, in particular terms for pretrial investigation, commissioning of expert evidence according to the new procedure and appealing the suspicion.
