Lawyers and partners of INTEGRITES (Ukraine) and SORAINEN (Estonia) discussed practical aspects of using advantages of Estonia as a harbor for IT companies.
The participants of the event discussed with interest all the advantages of Estonian jurisdiction for IT companies. These are a flexible tax system, as well as a simplified registration procedure, and employment. Particular attention was drawn to the existing ecosystem for the development and promotion of IT start-ups.
«Talking about investing in Estonia, you mark three things:
Estonia has good startup incentives including startup visas, we have a really vibrant startup ecosystem. The second thing is e-residency. Since the beginning of the last year, Estonia has offered everybody in the world to become an e-resident. The third important point is Estonian corporate income tax system. Estonian companies only have to pay profit tax when they distribute profit to the shareholders, so you can use Estonia as a base for re-investing elsewhere in Europe or in the world without actually having to pay profit tax until you take the money out of the company», -comments Toomas Prangli, Co-Managing Partner of Sorainen.
In turn, INTEGRITES lawyers shared experience, trends and prospects of IT business from the point of view of a legal adviser.
“The IT industry is a priority for Integrites law firm. We are approached by clients from the IT business with the number of requests, for example, corporate structuring and legal due diligence of IT companies. We also help to carry out transactions on sale and purchase of IT businesses. And it is important to consider both the transfer of corporate rights and the transfer of intellectual property rights. Besides, investors approach us to settle their relations with the help of shareholder agreements” – pointed up Anton Babak, Senior Associate of INTEGRITES.
Corporate and M&A practice of INTEGRITES is recommended by the leading world rankings: IFLR 1000, Chambers Europe 2017; Legal 500 EMEA.
